Fire Weather Discussion as of 6:40 p.m. PDT, Friday, October 16, 2026:

An incredibly dry October combined with low relative humidity values and breezy conditions will bring a rare late season elevated risk of wildfire spread during the day on Saturday. Minimum relative humidity values will drop to between 25-30% and combined with very dry fuels and southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph will lead to elevated risk of wildfire spread if a spark were to ignite. Little to no measurable precipitation has fallen since the middle of September and after an incredibly dry summer season both fine and timber fuels are unusually dry for the time of year. For the larger wildfires still burning around the region could see some minor flareups with those as the winds pick up and relative humidity values remain very low.

Aviation discussion as of 7:10 p.m. PDT Sunday, October 18, 2026 valid through 10:00 p.m. PDT Monday, October 19, 2026:

VFR conditions will prevail throughout the period with an increase in high level cloudiness tonight that will last through the day on Monday although ceilings should remain AOA 15,000 feet MSL. Winds will remain light and under 5 mph.
